As someone with experience as a business owner as well as
Program Management, Business and HR, I created this networking hub to provide Black women with a space to support, guide and collaborate with one another across different stages and circumstances in life. This initiative is rooted in sisterhood and focuses on growth, success and opportunity, helping women excel in their careers while offering hope, encouragement, and shared strength throughout their journeys.
Black women entrepreneurs consistently face:
- Limited access to capital
- Smaller startup funding amounts
- Fewer business networks and connections
Black women still experience:
- Higher exposure to layoffs in public sector and service jobs
- More underemployment (working below skill level)
- Less access to professional networks and referrals
- Slower re-entry after job loss
Recent reporting also shows unemployment spikes impacting Black women more sharply during economic shifts and layoffs, especially in government and administrative sectors.
